I want to learn to make pretty arts in SAI so I was messing with some of the tools and blending and such… I have a long way to go (also it’s another Kiki. Expect more Kiki over the next week or so?!!)

I was whinging about not knowing what to draw so one of my brothers suggested pokémon. I don’t think I’ve drawn pokémon since primary school or something >v<;

…Actually I accepted his challenge to draw the first 150 but I’m not so sure about that any more :’D

Eva Expressions

I uh… Had the weekend from hell last weekend. On the plus side, it made me want to draw out my feelings, which lead to me drawing Eva, which lead to me drawing other expressions too. I feel like my interest in drawing has been rekindled… I want to draw my characters more so I can get to know them better! <3

If people had wings, how would they sleep?

A rough sketch that I might take through to a finished piece. It was inspired by something one of my friends said on twitter the other day; she was wondering whether people with wings would fold up their wings to sleep, or sleep on their sides without folding them. I then said that I thought it would be nice to sleep on your back on the feathers… and then I couldn’t resist the urge to draw it. I kind of want to try sketching some other images of winged people sleeping, too c:

Also I finally purchased a license for SAI as an early birthday present to myself the other day (: And I turned 21 yesterday. How time flies!

First picture for 2012 and it’s… this. I like how it came out, but there’s a lot I could have drawn better. Anyway, it was mainly something I drew so I could use it to replace the Christmas-themed picture I was still using on facebook/twitter.

Squids and Chibis

To uh, explain. I thought drawing a chibi would help me out of my art block (maybe) since they’re quick and easy to draw. My Japanese friend from twitter, Rippy, has a picture of a squid in her display picture at the moment so drawing inspiration from that (https://twitter.com/#!/1989_rippy) I decided to draw her with said squid, and it kind of went from there.

><; I think my lack of practice is most evident in the lineart. Such terrible lineart…

No inspiration

Hi guys >_<; Maybe I’m just drained after Uni followed by putting in an application for the JET program all in a rush one after another, but I’m rather uninspired at the moment. Actually I feel a little depressed;; Or like now that Uni is over my life is going to have no meaning. I’m sure that will pass. I hope. But I digress. Does anyone have advice for getting some inspiration back/getting back into drawing? Maybe I should go buy a Ghibli art book or something…

Never Lose Hope

First art post in an age :’D This is also up over on deviantART, but it’s the exact same image on both ends (I usually put larger images over here, but it’s hot and I’m kind of sleepy at the moment :’D)

This is my half of a trade from the beginning of the year, which I have finally completed! I started it in July, and didn’t look at it again until today when I decided to finish it. There’s a lot that could be improved on, but after staring at the grass for too long I wasn’t sure what was what anymore :’D Still, I’d like to think it’s an improvement on my previous attempt at grass.

I haven’t drawn much this year >_< I’ve done a few things for Uni here and there that I’ll share another day, but I’m out of practice none-the-less and quite unhappy with this. Here’s to re-finding my skills.

I got to design a logo for myself for one of my assignments :D I am pretty happy with it and can’t wait to incorporate it into all the places I go on (deviantART etc), but that will have to wait until the end of the year. Anyway! >< One of the reasons I’m posting this is because I would like feedback on the tagline ;~; Panda, Bonnie, or anyone else should happen to come across this post in the next few days, what do you think? D’: Does it represent my art/me okay? What kind of tagline would you give me?

Ahaha, first post in three and a half months. Excuses for that will come later (basically, Uni got busy and to top it all off I got a part time job which became practically full-time work within two weeks). Anyway! I just finished Uni on Friday night, and yesterday the wonderful Bonnie (bonxy@deviantART) said she had made an iScribble account and wanted to draw with me tonight. It was definitely a great way to finally wind down after the end-of-semester stress, which is good, because I hadn’t had a chance to yet.

Anyway! I’ve been meaning to rewatch Kiki’s Delivery Service, so it was on my mind, so I drew a Kiki. Then Bonn turned the girl she was drawing into Kiki. It’s neat seeing the differences in our styles next to each other like this ^^ I can’t wait to watch the movie again now.
